The Power of Surrender: A Journey Guided by Divinity
For the past few years, I’ve been in what I call a Surrender Experiment, inspired by Michael Singer’s work. But for me, this isn’t about spiritual escapism or passive waiting. It’s about active trust. It’s about going inward, listening to my Higher Self and my Spiritual Guides, and letting Divinity take the lead. The deeper I walk this path, the more I see that surrender isn’t a weakness. It’s wisdom.
A Life of Letting Go
A while back, I started to feel a growing sense of misalignment. My home felt energetically “off.” My corporate job felt draining like it was asking me to shrink just to stay afloat. And the direction my home country was heading, especially during the COVID era, left me feeling increasingly disconnected. I knew I was being invited into something new. But I didn’t know what, or where, it would lead. So I did the only thing that felt true: I began to release. I gave away possessions. I let go of rigid expectations. I cleared space in my life, not knowing what would replace it. It wasn’t a clean break. It was a soulful one. I wasn’t running, I was realigning. And just when I had cleared enough space, an opportunity arrived.
When Mexico Came Calling
A friend told me about an opening with a luxury resort company in Mexico. It sounded ideal:
Flights, housing, and expenses covered
A new start in a vibrant, sunny place
No red tape, the company will handle visas
It checked every box. And in my spirit, I felt the tug. “This must be the next step,” I thought. So I said yes. I gave away the last of my belongings. My roommate’s daughter took over my lease. I walked away from my job without resistance.Every door opened. Every piece aligned. Until I arrived.
When It Doesn’t Feel Like a Miracle
Within the first few weeks in Mexico, something felt… wrong. The energy wasn’t right. The job wasn’t what was promised; there were no real commissions, and it didn't reflect my gifts. My money began to dwindle. And most unsettling of all? There was no new vision pulling me forward. I started to doubt. Had I misunderstood the guidance? Had I made a mistake? But when I sat with it, sat with it, I heard something deeper. “Divinity gave you everything you asked for.”
And suddenly it all made sense.
Mexico Was the Answer, Just Not in the Way I Expected
I had asked to release my possessions. Done.
I had asked to leave a misaligned job. Done.
I had asked to try a new path. Done.
And I had asked, deep in my heart, to find my true place. Mexico wasn’t the destination. It was the mirror. It showed me everything I didn’t want, so I could finally get clear on what I did. That realization changed everything.
Returning Home, Reborn
When I came back to Vancouver, I had:
No job
No savings
No apartment
No plan
But I had something I never had before, Full trust. I trusted the unseen. I trusted my path. I trusted that if Divinity had brought me this far, It wouldn’t abandon me now. And then… the miracle.
What Surrender Made Possible
Without trying, without searching, without forcing I landed in the most aligned living situation I’ve ever had:
A fully renovated, fully furnished suite in one of Vancouver’s most vibrant neighborhoods
A 5-minute walk to the beach and community spaces that nourish me
A rooftop pool overlooking the ocean
The rent was so below market value that it felt surreal
I couldn’t have planned this. I wouldn’t have even thought to ask for it. But it found me because I let go.
What This Journey Taught Me
Every step of this path has revealed a deeper truth:
Surrender isn’t giving up; it’s giving up the illusion of control. We think we know the plan. We don’t. Divinity does.
The guidance doesn’t always look like we expect. Sometimes it takes you to Mexico just to show you you belong in Vancouver.
Fear is the biggest block to miracles. When I chose trust instead of panic, everything changed.
The mind can’t imagine what the soul already knows. The best outcomes unfold, not when we force them, but when we allow them.
Final Thoughts
This journey isn’t just about me. It’s about what’s possible for all of us when we say: “I’m ready to be led.” We don’t have to cling. We don’t have to force. We don’t have to know. We just have to listen. Clear.Trust. Act when called. And then life begins to rearrange itself on our behalf. Surrender is not a one-time act. It’s a way of living. And the more I surrender, the more I’m shown that: Everything is always working out for me. It always has been. It always will be.
