What If You Chose This Life?

What if before you were even born you chose this exact life?

What if before you were even born you chose this exact life?

What if, before you were even born, you chose this exact life?

Not just the highlight reel.
The heartbreaks, too.
The illness.
The family dynamics.
The moments that broke you open.

What if none of it was random?

What if, on some deep soul level, I even chose to give myself cancer?

I don’t mean that in a “this is all your fault” way. I mean… what if my soul knew I needed a wake-up call so big, so undeniable, that it would stop me in my tracks? Something that would strip away everything false and force me to remember who I really am.

I know, that’s not an easy concept to swallow. Especially when you’ve suffered, or watched someone you love suffer. But the truth is, we don’t grow when life is perfect.

We grow through the cracks.
Through the loss.
Through the challenges that knock the wind out of us.

And maybe, just maybe, trying to take someone’s pain away the moment we see it isn’t always the loving thing to do. It could be taking away the very experience their soul came here to have.

Yes, we can still help. Of course, we can.
But we help without the need for them to accept it. Without the hidden hope that it will “fix” them.

Because sometimes… they’re not ready. Or they’re walking a path we don’t yet understand.

I shared this with someone recently, a self-described “rescuer.” She wants to save people from their pain. I get it. I’ve been there too.

But I’ve learned the hard way: sometimes that’s just ego dressed up as love.

The truth? People find their way when they’re ready. Or they don’t. And both are sacred.

We don’t have to save the whole world.
We just have to stop interrupting someone else’s way home.

Because when you zoom out far enough, it all begins to make sense.
Every encounter. Every setback. Every detour.

It’s not chaos.
It’s the curriculum our soul signed up for—not to punish us, but to wake us up.

Again and again.
Until we remember why we came.
